Kate worked as an actor for 25 years. During that time she appeared in the Krays, Mona Lisa, Croupier, Cry Freedom and the award winning BBC film Safe. Her most recent appearance was in Criminal Justice for the BBC

During the last five years Kate has been concentrating more on her work as a writer and director. She has written two feature films which are currently in development and has twice written for Channel Four’s Coming Up series.

She is currently writing a comedy series for Talkback and has also been shortlisted for Film Four’s 2009 Cinema Extreme as a writer/director.
